    Division:

    Location: Itinerant-County-Wide

    Salary: Based on County Salary Schedule, dependent on degree/salary level approved by the WVDE and experience.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of a B. A. Degree in Social Work.

    Hold or eligible for a WV Social Work License.

    Experience working in schools, preferred.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Excellent organization, effective independent and team planning skills, professionalism, self-motivation, and efficient time-management skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Maintain communication with at-risk students and their families following release from placement centers, homeless shelters etc., through multiple channels including but not limited to emails, phone calls, video conferencing, home visits, and letters to provide guidance and family counseling as needed.

    Where practical and financially possible, conduct visits with students identified as at-risk students.

    Collect data on at-risk students returning from placement centers, homeless students, and others identified as homeless annually, including drop out data, grades, course credits, home conditions, job searchers and post graduate education.

    Recommend social services to support the needs of at-risk students and their families.

    Provide information about post-secondary education and career options to at-risk students and their families

    Work with DHHR to obtain student information on former placement center students available through community support services.

    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor (s).

    Compensation
    Salary based on experience and education level per Mingo County salary schedule. Expected range: $44,555 - $75,477.
    Health and basic life insurance provided through West Virginia's Public Employees Insurance Agency. Health insurance premiums, which vary by plan and coverage level, split 80/20 between employer and employee. Basic life insurance provided at no cost to the employee.
    Position requires enrollment in the Teachers Retirement System through West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board. New enrollees contribute 6% of gross salary with a matching contribution by the Board of 7.5%. Vestment requires 10 years of qualified service. Withdraw of employee contributions available upon leaving employment with a WV county board of education if deisred.
    15 annual days of personal leave provided, pro-rated for those hired after the start of the current employment term. Up to 4 days may be used each school year without cause pursuant to state and local policies.
