    Qualifications:

    WV Licensure in Culinary Arts (7095)

    or

    Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate Degree and complete two years of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience (4,000 hours) in the area for which licensure is requested.

    Or

    Completion of four years (8,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the occupation for which licensure is requested.

    Completion of a full year of training from an approved education program in the specialization.

    Valid current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Cards

    Job Responsibilities:

    Employee will be responsible for teaching the Prostart, Culinary Arts Education. This employee needs to have an understanding of related areas and will prepare students for career’s in these industries.

    The successful candidate must pass the California Achievement Basic Skills Test and NOCTI Occupational Competency Test and must maintain certification requirements by the WVDE CTE teacher Endorsement Code (s) 7095

    The successful candidate will be involved in the appropriate WVDE approved career technical student organizations (Skills USA).

    The employee will develop community and industry partnerships between the school and students.

    The employee will serve on the CTE Advisory Committees and also implement a Simulated Workplace Environment within the classroom. They will implement the program of study, develop appropriate lessons, use a variety of instructional strategies, as well of foster a climate of conducive leaning. They will attend Professional Development as required by educators. Encourage student attendance and positive behavior.

    The employee will communicate positively with the educational community including parents.

    The employee will perform responsibilities based on State Board Policy 5310.

    Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Principal/Director or immediate supervisor may assign.

    Contingent upon degree level, experience and county approved pay scale

    Compensation
    Salary based on experience and education level per Mingo County salary schedule. Expected range: $44,555 - $75,477.
    Health and basic life insurance provided through West Virginia's Public Employees Insurance Agency. Health insurance premiums, which vary by plan and coverage level, split 80/20 between employer and employee. Basic life insurance provided at no cost to the employee.
    Position requires enrollment in the Teachers Retirement System through West Virginia Consolidated Public Retirement Board. New enrollees contribute 6% of gross salary with a matching contribution by the Board of 7.5%. Vestment requires 10 years of qualified service. Withdraw of employee contributions available upon leaving employment with a WV county board of education if deisred.
    15 annual days of personal leave provided, pro-rated for those hired after the start of the current employment term. Up to 4 days may be used each school year without cause pursuant to state and local policies.
    State attendance incentive ($500) provided for those who use 4 or fewer days of personal leave each school year.
